Frequently Asked Questions
I am a commuter student. Where do I purchase my parking decal?
Commuter students must sign into their Navigator account and click on the Parking Permit Request link to access the parking decal web store.
I am a resident student. Am I eligible to park on campus?
Only resident students who entered the parking lottery and were granted a decal are eligible to park on campus. If you missed the lottery and feel you have an extreme case that warrants review, there is a waiting list available. To access, you must sign into your Navigator account and click on the Parking Permit Waitlist link. All cases will be reviewed by Salem State administration. Application to the waitlist does not guarantee you will receive a decal.
I want to return my parking decal. What is your refund policy?
By default, Salem State University does not offer refunds for parking decals. However, the University also understands that there can occasionally be unique situations that require further review. If you feel your situation qualifies; please download, complete, and email a copy of this form to firstname.lastname@example.org for review.
How do I access the new North Campus Parking Garage?
The parking garage is open to Commuter students and select North campus residents only. Access is granted via your Salem State ClipperCard, and should work automatically once you arrive on campus. If you have issues with your access, please email email@example.com.
I am an employee. Where do I purchase my parking decal?
Employees must sign in to their Polaris account. From there, click on Launchpad, and then Parking Permit Request.
I have a new vehicle, how can I update my information in your system?
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org with your decal number and the information of your new vehicle. If you are able to successfully transfer your decal to your new vehicle, you may do so. If you require a replacement sticker, you must visit the University Police department during our above hours. The cost for a replacement sticker is $5 and is payable by Check or ClipperCash only.
I have a parking ticket, and I would like to pay/appeal it. What are my options?
All persons parking on Salem State University property do so at their own risk. Salem State University is not responsible for theft or damage to your vehicle. Lock your vehicle and do not leave valuables in plain view. Designated parking areas are for authorized and permitted parking only with limited exceptions for special events.
Salem State University has permitted parking areas available on each of its five campuses. All vehicles parked on university property must be properly permitted. Parking permit decals will be available for purchase online through your Navigator or Polaris account beginning in August each year. Additional information regarding parking decal purchase and pricing can be found at parking decal information.
Vehicles that are not parked within the designated permit area are subject to ticketing and towing. In an effort to ensure compliance with the university parking regulations, the university police department has added dedicated parking enforcement officers. If you have any questions on this matter please email email@example.com.
For additional information please visit our policies page for parking and traffic rules and regulations as well as our tow and hold policy.
